1st Inter House Sports Competition of Royal Court Schools -A Model of Organizational Excellence.

 
The 1st Inter house sports competition of Royal Court Schools held on Saturday April 1st 2017 at Ojodu Abiodun Community High School, Ojodu Berger, turned out to be a day of euphoric fun and mingling together between guests, parents, pupils, teachers, school management and sponsors.

 It was an event that may have left a lasting imprint in the heart of everyone who attended. These are some of the reactions of the attendees who took to the social media:

Without exaggeration, it was like a Mini-Olympic games. First thing that will catch your attention was the organizational excellence and the branding... the presence of Big names: Diamond Bank, MTN and Aquamount Waters among other individual Sponsors.

The opening ceremony was something out of this world, considering displays from children between the ages of 2 and 11years, wao!.

The colourful parade featured a lot of acrobatic displays by the School's Cub Scout and the invited members of Nigerian Scout.

It was all applause when the four houses displayed their uniqueness in the march pass...Barons (Green), Dukes (Purple), Emperors (Orange), and Viscounts (Pink) as their kings and queens displayed some gorgeous atires.

Then the Torch of peace lit up...as the representatives of each house took their turn running with the torch until it got to the Chairperson Mrs. Akunna Ndunagum... In the presence of those representing guest of honors: Chioma Ajunwa-Opara, MON (1st Nigerian Olympic Gold Medalist) and Dosu Joseph, MON (also an Olympic Gold Medalist).

And the games began from 10 metres race for toddlers to 200metres for senior boys and girls... The fun got to crescendo with games like  filling the bottle, sack race, bursting the balloons,  blind folding and picking the ball, catching the school Bus and the relay race. At the end it was Viscounts that swept 17 gold medals more than double what second place Dukes bagged - 7 gold medals.

It was really catching them young with revelation of young shinning stars from the Viscounts house: Shikemi Olaniyan (5 Gold medals), Bisola Alade (5 Gold medals) and David Chukwueke (2 Gold and 2 Bronze medals)...

The medals were presented by the Chief Host, Mr. Dominic Isunuoya (Chairman, Royal Court Schools).

100 metres for parents (Daddys and Mummys), staff and Alumni is a story for another day. It was lot of fun. "Sorry Ma/ Sir, for those that fell yakata" The MC, a very fuuny guy, called it "Plane Crash" - lots of laugh! We know some of you were Usain Bolt in your prime.. but you know it has been a long time now.

The sponsors: Diamond Bank and MTN gave out special gifts to these brave parents, Staff and Alumni who participated in the race.  Indeed, every attendee received a gift pack....We say thank you to the sponsors.

Speaking about the benefits of sports to the pupils, Mrs. Olachi Isunuoya, Proprietress of the School, in her remark said, “Inter house sports competitions are meant to train children in the spirit of sportsmanship. They learn to take it when they lose, to rejoice when they win and they should still love each other in the spirit of Sportsmanship”.
